Throf Communications & Information Technology Co. is committed to protecting the privacy of the users of the "Throf" app. This policy explains how the data you provide when using the app is collected, used and protected, in line with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Throf is a Saudi company building digital solutions for the livestock sector, helping individual investors and companies manage livestock efficiently through smart systems that combine technology and data, and contributing to sustainability and food security through digital transformation.

Personal data we collect and process
Personal data: (a) full name; (b) phone number; (c) email; (d) personal or business address; (e) bank account number (from service providers) and data related to the work of service providers, such as a veterinarian’s professional licence number, and any other data that is registered.
Minors: the app may not be used by anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that a minor’s personal data was collected without such consent, we will delete it immediately.
Location: we collect the location of users and service providers to improve the experience, facilitate livestock-related services and reach nearby service providers — only after the user’s explicit consent.
Device information: device type, operating system, IP address, browser type and language settings.
Usage information: how you use the app, such as pages visited, services used and how you interact with service providers, to improve your experience.
How we use data
1- Providing services such as booking veterinary consultations, auctions and other services.
2- Improving the service by analysing app usage and user preferences.
3- Automated processing and AI: used only for operational and analytical purposes; no decision affecting the user is taken without human involvement.
4- Location: to direct users to the nearest service providers and facilitate logistics.
5- Communicating with users about bookings, app updates or enquiries.
6- Payments: using financial and bank data to complete payments and transactions.
Cookies and tracking
We may use cookies or similar technologies to understand how you use the app and personalise services. If you refuse cookies, some services may not work properly.
Sharing data
1- With service providers linked to the service you request (e.g. veterinarians, livestock experts, transport providers or relevant government bodies).
2- With trusted third parties for payment processing, additional services or reporting to relevant government bodies, bound by strict privacy obligations under the PDPL, its implementing regulations and SDAIA instructions.
3- Legal obligations: when required by law or to cooperate with regulators under the PDPL.
Legal basis
We rely on your explicit consent. You may withdraw it at any time by contacting the Personal Data Protection Officer, without affecting processing based on other legal grounds.
Storage
Personal data is stored securely in Saudi Arabia with a cloud provider located in the Kingdom (Eastern Region) and is not transferred abroad except under the applicable laws and approvals. Identity, account and usage data are kept for 120 months after your last use of the app, or as legally required, then securely and irreversibly deleted, including backups.
Any future transfer outside the Kingdom would only take place after the competent authority’s approval, ensuring an equivalent level of protection, and prior notice to users.
Data protection
1- Encryption of personal and financial data in transit.
2- Identity verification to keep accounts secure.
3- Periodic security reviews.
4- Breach notification to SDAIA and affected users within 72 hours, as required.
Your rights under the PDPL
1- Right to be informed. 2- Right of access (via the "Personal data management" page in the app). 3- Right to obtain a copy of your data in a readable format by email where technically possible. 4- Right to correction within 30 days (extendable by up to 30 days with prior notice), and to request restriction while accuracy is verified. 5- Right to deletion, except where data is anonymised, legally required to be kept for a period, or linked to a pending court case. 6- Right to withdraw consent at any time through customer service.
Exercising these rights is free unless the law provides otherwise; we answer within 30 days of receiving a complete request (extendable by up to 30 days with prior notice).
Complaints
You can complain to our Personal Data Protection Officer or through the requests and complaints form in the app, or to the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), Riyadh — sdaia.gov.sa, Data Governance Platform: dgp.sdaia.gov.sa.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or regulations. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email.
